Lumunos and the 12 Steps: How Meaningful Conversations Lead to Meaningful Change
Lumunos and Alcoholics Anonymous share roots through their founders and through the idea that personal transformation comes through authentic conversations and meaningful relationships. It is when we take accountability and heal that we are called to change our own lives, which then inspires us to create meaningful change in our communities.
In the chapter on making amends, Richard Rohr (Breathing Under Water: Spirituality and the Twelve Steps) writes about “redemptive listening”:
“Neither side needs to accuse or defend, but just state the facts as we remember them, and be open to hearing what the other needed, heard, or felt.”
Join us online on Wednesday evening, May 28th to explore how we can all apply elements of the 12 steps in our own lives and communities. In this session, we will focus on connection through accountability and repair. What’s the last thing (large or small) you probably should have apologized for? How might we connect more deeply with our loved ones, friends, and neighbors of all backgrounds by practicing “redemptive listening”?
While we offer our online programming for free, we encourage you to make a donation to help support our mission of fostering meaningful conversations and relationships that create purpose in life, belonging in community, and wellbeing in the workplace.
